Web hosting visitor data
This website operates under the existing IONOS Webhosting Business contract. According to IONOS, visits involve processing of the referrer (previously visited website), requested page or file, browser type and version, operating system, device type, time of access and anonymised IP address. According to the provider, visitor data are anonymised directly upon collection and processed for the security and stability of the service. The retention period for these web hosting visitor data is 8 weeks.
Server access logs and additional security logs
Access logs are present in the IONOS webspace. According to information provided by IONOS Support on 23 October 2026, server access logs and security logs serve the security and stability of the service. The retention period and anonymisation described above for web hosting visitor data do not establish a general rule for all additional security logs.
Article 6(1)(f) GDPR may provide the legal basis for technically necessary delivery and security. The legitimate interest is the reliable and secure operation of the website. A data processing agreement with IONOS was concluded electronically on 23 October 2026.
IONOS WebAnalytics
According to IONOS, WebAnalytics processes the referrer (previously visited website), the requested page or file, browser type and version, operating system and device type, and the time of access. According to IONOS, the IP address is processed in anonymised form and used solely to determine the location of access. IONOS identifies statistical analysis and technical optimisation of the website as the purposes.
The statement above about anonymised IP addresses describes processing by WebAnalytics; it does not establish how IP addresses are handled in additional security logs.
WebAnalytics is present in the IONOS account. The IONOS product documentation for WebAnalytics (German) ↗ describes collection through log files or tracking pixels and the absence of WebAnalytics cookies. This product description does not establish the specific collection method for this domain.
Website code, cookies and language selection
The website’s own static code sets no cookies, uses neither Local Storage nor Session Storage, and embeds no analytics scripts, external fonts, maps, videos or third-party scripts. Images and CSS are served from the same website origin. There is no contact form.
The language is determined solely by the chosen URL: German at /, English at /en/. The language choice is not stored. There is no automatic translation or transmission to a translation service.
Contact and email forwarding
Contact links open your email or telephone application. The website itself does not receive messages. At IONOS, mail@peter-hoffmann.de is configured to forward messages to peter.hoffmann@erlas.de. Within the expert practice, only Peter Hoffmann has access to this mailbox and handles the messages.
Information provided is used to handle the enquiry. Article 6(1)(b) GDPR applies to contract-related enquiries; Article 6(1)(f) GDPR may apply to other enquiries, based on the interest in responding to them. Data that are no longer required must be deleted unless statutory retention obligations or legitimate reasons require further retention. These criteria do not replace specific retention periods for hosting logs.
HTTPS protects transmission between the browser and web server when the connection uses HTTPS. It does not automatically provide end-to-end encryption for email. Please agree a suitable transfer method before sending confidential expert-report documents.
Your rights
Subject to the legal conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation. Consent may be withdrawn with effect for the future. You may complain to a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the place of your habitual residence, work or the alleged infringement. Information and contact details are available, for example, from the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (German) ↗.
